"The Female Nude"

A workshop of 10 meetings dealing with different aspects of the female nude and models.

Each lesson will begin with a short lecture about the subject of the exercise with the model, as follows:

1.       Classical nude studies - the difference between ideal beauty with reality.

2.       Early nudes – Symbolism of the body and the forces of nature, (from studies of sculptures and paintings by Anna Mandiata).

3.        Disassembling the body - observing painting of the body through drawings and studies of artists throughout the generations.

4.       Grotesque forms - through the works of Jean Corring and Lisa Yoskevitch.

5.       The body in Expressionism.

6.       Hybrid Bodies - human and animal

7.       The material aspect of the body - through Lucien Freud .

8.       Observing the reclining naked female throughout history.

9.       Pin Up Girls - the female figure from 1940 - 1960.

10.    The artist and the model - relationships between them.

11.   The body in movement - women descending stairs.

4 hours, 10 meetings, total 40 hours
